FLØW
Methodology and sources
FLØW.money is a take-home pay estimate built directly on the payroll formulas the governments publish for payroll software — not reverse-engineered from another calculator. Every parameter in the engine carries its source, and every result line names the publication it came from.
Official sources
Parameters are taken only from official publications:
- T4127 (CRA) — Canada Revenue Agency — T4127, Payroll Deductions Formulas (122nd edition, effective January 1, 2026; 123rd edition, effective July 1, 2026): federal and Ontario brackets and constants, CPP/CPP2, EI.
- TP-1015.F-V (Revenu Québec) — Revenu Québec — TP-1015.F-V (2026-01), Formulas to Calculate Source Deductions and Contributions: Québec brackets, QPP/QPP2, QPIP, the deduction for workers.
Parameter sets are keyed by effective date, so a mid-year revision (the July T4127 edition is a real thing) never silently rewrites January numbers. Third-party calculators are used only as sanity checks — never as sources.
Parameters last verified: October 23, 2026 (against the publications above). Parameters are re-checked every January and mid-year.
What is modelled
- Per-period payroll math following CRA T4127 Option 1: the pay period is annualized, deductions are computed on the annualized figures, and the result is divided back by the number of pay periods.
- Federal tax with the basic personal amount phase-out (BPAF), the Canada employment amount, and credits for CPP/EI/QPIP contributions; the 16.5% Québec abatement on the Québec path.
- Ontario at full fidelity: brackets, surtax, tax reduction, and the graduated Ontario Health Premium payroll formula.
- Québec end to end: QPP/QPP2, QPIP, the reduced EI rate, the deduction for workers, and the enhanced-QPP deduction.
What is not modelled
- Anything beyond the basic personal amounts: no spousal or dependant credits, no tuition or other TD1 amounts, no union dues, no pension (RPP) deductions, no payroll RRSP.
- Return-filing credits that payroll formulas never see (for example Ontario’s LIFT credit). FLØW estimates a paycheque, not a tax return.
- Within-year timing: contribution caps are applied on annualized figures, so mid-year cap effects (like CPP stopping once the maximum is reached) are smoothed across the year.
- Self-employment income — that is a separate mode with its own rules, not part of this calculator yet.

All computation happens in your browser. FLØW has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and stores nothing you type. The page you downloaded is the whole machine.
FLØW provides estimates for planning and comparison. It is not tax, payroll, or financial advice. For a binding figure, consult your pay stub, CRA’s Payroll Deductions Online Calculator, Revenu Québec, or a qualified professional.
